Suspected bomb attack in front of Interior Ministry in Ankara: attacker dead

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya wrote on the Twitter platform (X) regarding a bomb attack at the ministry. Two “terrorists” were involved in the attack. One blew himself up, the other was “neutralized.” Two police officers were slightly injured in an exchange of fire following the explosion.

The attack took place at the entrance to the Interior Ministry in the center of the Turkish capital, the minister said. The center was largely cordoned off.

According to broadcaster NTV, the explosion also occurred just a few hundred meters from an entrance to parliament. It is scheduled to meet on Sunday for the first time since the summer break.
