Killing drama in Winznau SO. A 60-year-old man has apparently been the victim of a homicide.
Employees of the Solothurn canton police found a body on an embankment on the banks of the Aare in Winznau last Thursday morning following a report from the population, the police said on Sunday. Initial investigations showed that the 60-year-old man from the region had been the victim of a homicide.
Police are looking for witnesses
In the course of the intensive investigations, the police and public prosecutor’s office might have stopped a suspect in the meantime. He is in custody. According to the police, the alleged perpetrator is a 26-year-old Swiss man.
Persons who in the night from Wednesday to Thursday in Winznau in the area of Kleinfeldstrasse resp. Schachenstrasse/Aareweg have made suspicious observations or have found a backpack at the train station in Bellach in the past few days are asked to report to the Solothurn cantonal police.
