Suspect who was absconding in the case of stabbing Sajesh (36) in Chakala East of Mavelikkara Thekekkara Umbarnad has been arrested. Vinod (50) was arrested by the Kuratikad police at Vishnu Bhavan in Umbarnad. He was caught from the washroom of a deserted house in Ponakam area. After checking the CCTV footage, the police followed Vinod, who went absconding following the Thursday night incident, and confirmed that he had not left Mavelikara. Neighbors found Vinod hiding in an empty house for four days. They informed the police. The police caught him at 7.30 pm on Sunday. He was tired because he had not eaten for four days. He was admitted to the Mavelikkara District Hospital by the police due to injuries on his body. The incident took place on Thursday at 11.45 pm near the Anpoli Kalam to the Mullikulangara Devi Temple at Aswathi Junction under the canal bridge north of the village office junction.
