A Civil Police of Minas Gerais Today, an operation called “Rufous Hornero”, which resulted in the arrest of a 31-year-old man suspected of extortion. According to the corporation, the individual — known as MC Dugaaoo — sold fake iPhones (made with clay) in Belo Horizonte.
According to investigations, the suspect had announced the sale of two iPhones 15 Pro Max for R$13,000 on a social network. A 36-year-old victim contacted him and arranged a meeting point for the transaction.
On the day of the crime, in February this year, MC Dugaaoo would have delivered two sealed boxes to the victim. However, when trying to check the products, the suspect allegedly claimed that the seal should not be broken and began to threaten her, claiming to be armed.
Faced with intimidation, the victim would have been forced to make the payment via Pix immediately to a bank account indicated by the suspect. After the transaction, he fled the scene in a vehicle, leaving the couple injured.
Upon opening the boxes, the victim and his 29-year-old partner discovered that the devices advertised as iPhones were, in fact… made of clay. To the police, MC Dugaaoo denied the crime and said he did not know what it was about.
At a press conference, delegates Gislaine Rios and Gabriel Teixeira said that, even in the face of the investigation’s denials, elements were found that indicate his involvement in the crime of extortion.
Furthermore, the police highlighted that, so far, there is no information about other victims. After the usual procedures, the suspect was sent to the prison system, remaining at the disposal of the Justice.
