Susan Lucci’s husband Helmut Huber dies at 84: The All My Children star calls it ‘tremendous loss’

Susan Lucci’s husband Helmut Huber has died at the age of 84, it as shared on Wednesday morning.

The TV producer and manager, who was a native of Austria, passed away on Monday on Long Island, New York.

The couple were married since 1969 and have two children together, Liza Huber, 47, and Andreas Huber, 34.

‘He was an extraordinary husband, father, grandfather, and friend,’ the soap opera star’s rep told People.

‘Helmut’s passing is a tremendous loss for all who knew and loved him. He was an extraordinary husband, father, grandfather, and friend,’ a statement from Lucci’s publicist, Jessica Sciacchitano, said.

‘The family kindly asks for privacy during this incredibly difficult time,’ it was added.

A rep for the family stated, ‘A family man, he was a loyal friend, and loved them deeply.

‘With a roaring sense of humor, larger-than-life personality, and a practical problem-solver, he lived his life to the fullest. Mr. Huber who formerly raced motorcycles in Austria was a first-rate skier, and avid golfer, belonging to the Garden City Golf Club and Westhampton Country Club.’

Huber is survived by Susan, and his two sons and two daughters as well as his brother, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He worked as Lucci’s manager and the CEO of Pine Valley Productions.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions are made to the American Stroke Association in support of stroke awareness and research, People claimed.

The couple met on the job at the Garden City Hotel on Long Island, New York when Susan was in her early 20s and just out of college.

In December, she turned 75 years old.

And she was seen dining with her husband the night before at their favorite restaurant.

‘Twas the night before my birthday,’ wrote the siren in her caption.

The star is best known for portraying Erica Kane on the ABC daytime drama All My Children during that show’s entire network run from 1970 to 2011.

The show won her an Emmy in May 1999; it was her 19th nomination.

After the show was cancelled by ABC, the actress went on to appear in the comedy series Hot In Cleveland playing herself.

She also starred on ABC’s dramatic comedy series Devious Maids from 2013 to 2016.
