Two breast cancers for Linda Evangelista: “I want to see a hole in my chest!”
In the space of five years, the 58-year-old model has had to deal with the same disease twice. She did everything to be in remission.

Linda Evangelista has revealed that she was diagnosed with two breast cancers in five years. The top explained in an interview for “WSJ. Magazine” having faced the disease in 2018, then in July 2022.
“The evil was first detected during my annual mammogram,” she told the publication. “The results weren’t good and for other medical reasons, without hesitation, as I wanted to put it all behind me and not have to deal with it anymore, I opted for a bilateral mastectomy. Thinking that I would be peaceful for life. Breast cancer was not going to kill me!”

After her cancer recurred last year, the model told her oncologist: ‘Put a hole in my chest. I don’t want it to look pretty. I want you to do an excavation. I want to see a hole in my chest when you’re done. You understand me? I don’t want to die of this.”
The 58-year-old star said she told only a handful of people about her diagnosis. She didn’t want to announce it publicly during her fight. “I know I have one foot in the grave, but I’m in the celebration phase. I am so happy to be alive. Everything that happens now is a bonus.”
Linda Evangelista is currently promoting a book about her professional relationship with photographer Steven Meisel throughout his career. She will donate the profits from her book to breast cancer research.
