A police car was attacked by a handful of young people on Sunday followingnoon in Saint-Gilles. A policeman was injured, the Midi zone said on Monday, confirming information broadcast by several media. This attack comes a few days before the fire at a police station.

While a police vehicle was carrying out a check, Sunday around 5.30 p.m., near Square Jacques Franck and Place de Bethléem, young people targeted the patrol. Shortly following two arrests

Shortly before, two suspected drug traffickers had been arrested. In the evening, new scuffles were quickly put down thanks to the support of the federal police. Three people were the subject of a judicial arrest and two of an administrative arrest.

Friday evening, unknown persons had already tried to set fire to the central police station of Saint-Gilles, located in rue Antoine Bréart, causing limited damage to the garage and on the roadway.

During the night from Sunday to Monday, four vehicles were also set on fire on Avenue Jupiter in Forest. A witness alerted the emergency services around 4 a.m. Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the flames. There were no injuries, but all four cars were heavily damaged.

During the same night, the front door of the neighborhood police station located on the parvis of Saint-Gilles was also damaged.
