No, you’re not dreaming… you’ve seen Pennywise in a children’s film or Nosferatu in Spongebob, and a few other horrific characters even had appearances on the big screen. Overview in this month of October, conducive to horrifying demonstrations…
Pennywise In Basket spatial : A new era
The famous clown Pennywise, known as That – from the title of Stephen King’s novel – or even Pennywise the Cranking Clown, is found, to everyone’s surprise, in the trailer for Basket spatial : A new era, just behind Don Cheadle, who is seen commenting on a game with LeBron James. But it’s not really a coincidence, because the basketball player, who is also the producer of this feature film released in 2021 and which mixes animation and live action, is a big fan of horror films. Indeed, LeBron James already dressed up as Pennywise for Halloween in 2017 and his photo had circulated extensively on the social network X (formerly Twitter); he appeared at a Lakers game dressed as Jason Voorhees the following year and, for some time, rumors have it that he is very interested, via his production company SpringHill Entertainment, in producing a new version of Friday 13 !

Nosferatu the vampire in Spongebob
Count Orlok, better known as Nosferatu, is the character in the 1922 silent black and white feature film of the same name, directed by FW Murnau. The allusion to the classic horror film is the work of screenwriter and animator Jay Lender, who saw a photo of Nosferatu in the magazine Famous Monsters of Filmland, when he was a child. “The photo was of Nosferatu standing motionless in the doorframe,” he said. And it is as a wink that Count Orlok can be seen in the episode Graveyard Shift from the second season of the children’s cartoon, turning the light on and off for a few seconds.

Ghostface in Jay and Bob strike back
In Jay and Bob strike back, Kevin Smith had fun with Ghostface and even Wes Craven. Indeed, the screenwriter and director who shares the poster with Jason Mewes has fun with the franchise Chills. Their characters actually go to the set of Shivers 4 to save Suzanne, the orangutan that they freed from a laboratory. Shannen Doherty also lends herself to the game, filming a fake scene and revealing the identity of Ghostface before complaining regarding the scenario to… Wes Craven (who, in the first Chills from 1996, had included a copy of Crazy Clerk in the decor). And, speaking of Chillsknow that Linda Blair, the actress who plays the little girl of The exorcistmakes a quick appearance in the first part, she plays the role of a journalist eager to carry out a report.

Alien In The crazy story of spaceFriday the 13th
Mel Brooks’ 1987 satirical comedy stars Bill Pullman and John Candy. The two men meet in an interstellar café and order a meal. It was then that a customer, played by John Hurt – who was part of the film’s cast Alien, by Ridley Scott -, sees a xenomorph emerge from his torso… to dance and sing, like in a musical, on the café counter under the astounded eyes of customers.
