Cristiano Ronaldo, the Manchester United star, received a new blow in the summer Mercato, following a new club refused to include him in its ranks.
Ronaldo wish to leave Manchester United During the current summer transfer period, the English team will not participate in the next edition of the European Champions League.
The name of the Portuguese star has been associated with many teams participating in the Champions League, most recently Sporting Lisbon, in which he began his career in football regarding 20 years ago.
However, the British newspaper “The Times” revealed a resounding surprise, as it confirmed that Ruben Amorim, coach of Sporting Lisbon, rejects the idea of contracting Ronaldo this summer.
The Portuguese coach believes that hiring the Manchester United player may cost the team the loss of the structure that it has built since taking over the technical leadership in 2020.
And the matter did not stop there, as the newspaper confirmed that Amorim threatened to resign from his position as technical director of the team, if the club’s management insisted on contracting with Cristiano Ronaldo.
Thus, Sporting Lisbon is the latest club to refuse to include Cristiano Ronaldo in the current summer Mercato, following several clubs, most notably Chelsea and Bayern Munich.
