Surprise concert by the Trimazos at the covered market

Flash shot. To celebrate its 50th anniversary, the choir Les Trimazos wanted to launch the year in an original way, by singing Beethoven’s Ode to Joy at the covered market, at 10 a.m. on September 24.

It was indeed in September 1972 that this formation was born. It now has 52 members, 44 were present at the market, arriving as anonymous buyers. The authorization to perform in this place had been granted by Christine Guillemy, as well as by the traders. This concert had not been announced to surprise those familiar with the market.

The choristers were accompanied by the Piffaris, a dozen musicians, to perform a single six-minute work, L’Ode à la Joie, taken from the 9e symphony by Ludwig Von Beethoven and which, let us remember, is the European anthem. The performance was warmly applauded by the public who asked for more. The Trimazos will celebrate their birthday “with dignity” on Sunday, October 16, at Notre-Dame-du-Rosaire.
