From December onwards, Belém International Airport will have a new international route option: Surinam Airways, Suriname’s national airline, will be back in the capital of Pará. Flights between Belém and Paramaribo, the country’s capital, will take place on Thursdays and Sundays, at night, and will begin on December 14th.
The new operation, carried out with the Boeing 737-800, will be celebrated on the night of December 13th with the baptism of the first aircraft from this operation to land in Belém.
The resumption of the partnership with Surinam Airways is yet another reinforcement of the airport’s international operations, which currently has routes to four destinations outside the country: Fort Lauderdale, in the United States, operated by Azul; Lisbon, in Portugal, by TAP; Cayenne, in French Guiana, by Air France; and Paramaribo, in Suriname, with Gol.
“It is a great joy to welcome Surinam Airways back to Belém International Airport. With this route, we strengthen our relations with the neighboring country and increasingly connect Belém to the world. Since we took over management of the airport in September, this has been one of our priorities”, explains Marco Migliorini, CEO of Norte da Amazônia Airports (NOA).
