At the Dr. Raúl Leoni de Guaiparo hospital, in San Félix, a surgical day for cleft lip and palate was held this Saturday, March 2.
“Since we have been managing the hospital, we have been operating for two years and two months, this is the second opportunity that has been carried out (…) we are fulfilling it satisfactorily by operating on 20 children from the 11 municipalities of Bolívar,” comments the director. , Ahmad Hawi.
Highlights the work carried out through the Bolívar Social Foundation, the state government and the mayors’ offices to control and monitor patients.
He explains that they are not only based on operating on them but also providing them with outpatient treatment and then giving them postoperative follow-up for their improvement.
“We will continue to do it periodically,” he says. He explains that through each mayor’s office they recruit patients, perform exams for free, compensate for requirements, prepare them for the operating room and proceed to operate on them.
“We invite those who are close to the pediatric consultations at our institution to be evaluated and planned for their surgery,” highlights Hawi.
