Supreme Court sought further explanation from Election Commission on VV Pat operation
New Delhi: The Supreme Court has sought further explanation from the Election Commission on Operation VV Pat. The Supreme Court asked whether the machine’s control unit was separately sealed.
The Supreme Court asked the Election Commission five main questions. The court also said that the officials should appear before 2 p.m. and answer this question.
It was previously informed that the final decision on the petitions related to the VV Pat issue will be taken at 10 am on Tuesday. Meanwhile, the Supreme Court has asked the Election Commission to clarify how the machine works.
The Supreme Court asked whether there was a separate sealed microcontrol unit in the VV Pat. How many units do the symbols charge? When the voting machine remains sealed, is the control unit also sealed? Is it necessary to keep the data in the electronic voting machine for more than 48 days? These are the questions asked by the Supreme Court.
The Supreme Court also said that Election Commission officials should appear in person before 2 p.m. and answer questions. A petition was filed in the Supreme Court demanding that all votes be collated with VV Pat ballots.
