Supreme Court Rejects Sriram Venkataraman’s Appeal in Basheer Accident Case: Latest Updates

New Delhi: Journalist K.M. Accused IAS once morest the High Court verdict in the case of Basheer being hit by a vehicle. The Supreme Court rejected the petition filed by the officer Sriram Venkataraman. The Supreme Court said that it should be checked in the trial whether the evidence is valid.

Earlier in the case, the High Court had stated that the charge of murder once morest Sriram Venkataraman would stand. Questioning this, Sriram Venkataraman filed an appeal in the Supreme Court. The court pointed out that it is for the trial to determine which charges and evidence will survive. Then Sriram’s plea was rejected.

Basheer died in a car accident on August 3, 2019 at around one o’clock in the morning. The police case is that Sriram Venkataraman caused an accident by driving at high speed following drinking too much. The accident took place in front of the public office near Thiruvananthapuram Museum station.
