Supreme Court for the rape of a tourist in Mykonos: “Only judges are competent to judge”

The announcement in detail:

On the occasion of publications in the electronic press regarding a complaint about the commission of the crime of rape in a tourist resort, we point out the following:

The secrecy of the preliminary investigation is a basic principle of a fair trial.

The most frequent, unfortunately and definitely illegal tactic of selectively leaking information about the content of criminal files, which are in fact at the stage of preliminary examination, such as the case at hand and the presentation as data of factual events which, however, do not constitute the content of the file, has as a consequence the misinformation and creating impressions on public opinion.

This tactic has the obvious aim of creating a feeling of insecurity in the citizens, insulting the effectiveness of the Greek justice system and, consequently, defaming the country.

We would advise the uninvited “judges” and “prosecutors”, who like in any capacity to report facts, acts, or omissions especially in cases of criminal interest, without knowing the details of a case file, having no right to do so according to our legal culture, to offer a basic service to society as a whole:

To accept the basic principles of the rule of law and in particular to recognize that the only ones competent to judge, according to the Constitution and the Laws, are the judges and prosecutors of the Country.

Those who, being checked daily by their competent institutions, defend the rights and assign the obligations of the citizens during the examination of each case before them. If this is not their intention, let them consider the cost of eating into their credibility when, unfortunately for them, they are too often disproved.

Mykonos: Overturn in the “rape” case of the 23-year-old – The videos show consent

The three Pakistanis who were accused of raping a 23-year-old tourist in Mykonos were released without restrictive conditions.

The above happened as from the analysis of the videos, it appears, according to prosecutorial information, that the sexual intercourse reported by the 23-year-old took place with her absolute consent, as reported by APE-MPE.

In more detail, the 23-year-old complained that in the early hours of June 30, she was a victim of rape, while on vacation in Mykonos, by three perpetrators. The perpetrators were identified and brought to the Mykonos Security Department. There they confessed that they actually had sex with the 23-year-old tourist.

A case file was filed against the Pakistanis and they were brought before the Syros First Instance Prosecutor and then released without restrictive conditions.

As it emerged from the videos taken by the Pakistanis during their sexual intercourse with the tourist, it appears that all the sexual acts recorded in the videos were done with the full consent of the 23-year-old, without any evidence of rape, etc.

Finally, it is noted that during the alleged alleged rape, the tourist was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
