Os iPhones 15 [Plus] e 15 Pro [Max] have been with us for less than three months, but the rumor mill surrounding the next generation (“iPhones 16”) is already in full swing.
To add more fuel to the fire, images released by leaker de codinome “Kosutami” no X (ex-Twitter) supposedly show the battery of an “iPhone 16 Pro”. The cell, which would be in the initial prototyping stage, shows some interesting facts.

Early-stage iPhone 16 Pro battery prototype. It has a shiny metal casing, 3,355mAh (13.02Wh) capacity, LCV 4.48V (limited charge voltage). The current stage prototype has changed the design a bit: from a glossy surface to a matte metal casing and with a redesigned connector #Apple #appleinternal
Among them, the fact that it has a slightly larger capacity than the iPhone 15 Pro (3,355mAh, compared to the 3,274mAh of the current generation). However, what draws the most attention is that the battery appears to be encapsulated in a matte metal (or aluminum) and with a new connector — the current ones are in a matte black material.
Although the reason for this design change is not known, it might mean that the component will be able to dissipate heat in a better way — this, as everyone will remember, was one of the most controversial points of the iPhones 15 Pro [Max]which arrived on the market with several overheating complaints (but which were generally resolved by an iOS update).
If the new design is confirmed, this will not be the first time that a battery has changed in this way. Starting with the 40mm Apple Watch Series 5 (and only on it), Apple started to place it inside the same aluminum casing. At the time, iFixit highlighted that this might bring greater efficiency in terms of space and also the fact that it would be more resistant to punctures.
Regarding questions regarding the increase in weight of upcoming smartphones, “Kosutami” replied a follower on the social network that this information would be incorrect.
We have nothing left but to wait for the next (many) months to find out more regarding this… opinions? ????
