ASRock Launches W790 WS Motherboard to Maximize Productivity with Intel Processors® Xeon® Series W-2400/W-3400 (LGA4677)
TAIPEI, Taiwan, February 16, 2023 – ASRock, a leading global motherboard manufacturer, proudly announces its new workstation motherboard, ASRock W790 WS, for Intel processors® Xeon® W-3400/W-2400 series (LGA4677). ASRock W790 WS supports up to 2TB DDR5 ECC RDIMM, PCI-Express 5.0, USB4/ThunderboltTM 4 expansion slots and 10Gbps Dual Networking. A premium grade 14-layer PCB and 20+2-phase CPU VRM ensure peak performance and excellent reliability, even when subjected to the most demanding and continuous workloads.
W790 WS chipset is optimized for new Intel processors® Xeon® W-2400 series processors (LGA4677) and is also compatible with W-3400 series processors with up to 56 cores. ASRock W790 WS offers four-channel DDR5 design with 2DPC over 8 DIMM slots, maximizing memory performance, potential memory pool capacity, and supports ECC RDIMMs to ensure data reliability.
ASRock W790 WS motherboard features four PCI-Express 5.0 x16 slots and one 4.0 x16 slot, four Blazing M.2 NVMe PCI-Express 5.0 x4 SSD sockets (with up to 128Gbps performance), two USB4 ThunderboltTM 4 Type- C port (40Gbps plus PD 3.0 upload) and one U.2 mini SAS port (SFF-8643), providing ample storage options that reach the latest extremes of performance. The motherboard also supports ASRock Blazing Quad M.2 PCI-Express x16 card which supports four more NVMe PCI-Express 5.0 x4 SSDs (25110).
ASRock guarantees VRM stability for Intel processors® Xeon® W-2400 and W-3400 series and DDR5 memory under all conditions and system loads. Its leading VRM design features 20+2 Power Phases with 90A SPS, Nichicon 12K Black Capacitors and server-grade power chokes, mounted on a low-loss 14-layer PCB, which prevents the PCB from bending and ensures signal integrity even under extreme performance conditions.
On top of the VRMs is a large array of aluminum fins with three fans for active cooling, plus an aluminum alloy heatpipe and heatsink on the rear panel, which acts to further dissipate heat. Users can also manually adjust the fan speed curve in the BIOS to suit their individual needs.
Network connectivity includes dual 10GbE LANs (Marvell AQC113CS), ensuring super-fast file transfers, whether for network or cloud storage. an intel® I225LM (2.5GbE LAN) with vPro, provides Intel Technology® Active Management e Intel® Endpoint Management Assistant (Intel® EMA), enabling reliable remote management for corporate environments. In addition, Wi-Fi 6E with 2×2 antenna for connection reliability provides gigabit-class wireless networking, offering the convenience of built-in high-speed wireless connectivity.
