SABATON calls to support museums around the world by launching the “HISTORY ROCKS” project.
Swedish musicians have launched the “History Rocks” project, designed to help various museums around the world gain visibility and gain support from a new, untapped audience: heavy metal fans!
The group simply proposes that museums devoted to “military history and war” broadcast within their walls an animated film entitled “The War To End All Wars – The Movie”.
And this from the symbolic date of November 11 and for 2 weeks
Watch the trailer:
This film was developed in partnership with Yarnhub Animation studios.
It features songs from SABATON’s 10th studio album, “The War To End All Wars” (released in March 2022). It tells, in a simple and very educational way, the history of the First World War. This allows viewers to better understand the content of the songs on the album. It is a musical and historical adventure that tackles a number of subjects and tells the epic of various heroes. The main narration is in English with subtitles in several languages.
The screening of “The War To End All Wars – The Movie” will therefore be the perfect opportunity for people to visit the museums.
So they can learn more regarding this crucial part of our history. They will also be able to understand the sacrifices made by those who fought in the war.
SABATON appeals to its fans and history buffs.
The goal is for them to share the concept of this project with their local museums so that they join in this unprecedented initiative. With “History Rocks”, the group wants its public to go en masse to museums during this period. Not only to see the movie but also to take the time to visit these wonderful places.
This is how SABATON wants to extend and share even more its passion for history.
Pär Sundström bassist and leader of SABATON explains:
“Throughout our tours I had the opportunity to meet the curators of many museums. They told me to be in difficulty with the drop in attendance. As history buffs, that’s one thing we don’t like to hear. And as a group, we feel like we have to do something. That’s why ‘The War To End All Wars – The Movie’ came regarding and why we decided to develop this unusual idea, which I believe has probably never been done before. . Our mission is simple: to inspire people to visit these incredible treasures of history and truly connect with the events of the past.”
Since the launch of this project, SABATON has addressed its international contacts, encouraging them to suggest/inform their local museums, even national ones, small or large, it doesn’t matter.
Thousands of suggestions have already been submitted on the official “The War To End All Movies – The Movie” website.
