This non-profit organization seeks to help people who are dedicated to the beauty industry obtain work licenses and provide them with training.
Charito Cisneros is the president of the Organization and points out that she decided to create the organization when she saw that many immigrants who were professionally dedicated to the beauty field in their countries of origin do not know how to start in the Big Apple.
“I looked at the need there was in the world of beauty, that’s when I said, I’m going to open the Hispanic chamber of commerce, it’s an incredible thing because many people are professionals in their country of origin and they come here and had to start over.” , he said.
The chamber is currently offering certification workshops to obtain a beauty worker license in New York.
If those interested already have experience, he added, it is not necessary to take an exam.
“People who are professionals in their home country and have more than 5 years of experience can now obtain their license without having to take an exam,” he said.
“Those who are under 5 years old can take an exam and here we are, we have teachers who can prepare them to take a practical and written exam because we are once morest fraud,” he added.
The training will begin on September 25 and there will be four sessions, one per week.
These will take place in the Bronx and Long Island.
