Some 4,000 FC Twente supporters will be at Old Trafford. Last week, these supporters received an overview of practical supporter information for the visit to England via email.
Good to know:
- England is not a member of the European Union, so you will need a valid passport to travel to England/the United Kingdom. This passport must be valid for the entire period you are staying there.
- In England it is one hour earlier than in the Netherlands. The match starts at 20:00 local time and 21:00 Dutch time.
- The visitors’ area will be open from 6pm (local time).
- There is a strict security check at the stadium. Fireworks and drug dogs are also present. In England, strict laws and regulations apply to football-related misconduct.
Exchange location and exchange procedure
Everyone has received an exchange card via their supporters’ association or FC Twente itself. This is ready in your online ticket sales account (after logging in via kaartverkoop.fctwente.nl) and in the FC Twente app.
If this is not ready, please send an email to uitwedstrijden@fctwente.nl stating your name and relationship number.
Upon presentation of this exchange ticket + a valid ID, you will receive an entrance ticket for the match. Make sure your phone has enough battery at the exchange point!
Exchange is possible at:
- Tuesday, September 24 from 5:00 PM (local time) to 8:00 PM;
- Wednesday, September 25 from 10:30 a.m. (local time) to 4:00 p.m.

For supporters arriving late on Wednesday afternoon, they can change at the away section from 18:00 (local time) to 19:30. We appeal to everyone who is able to change on Tuesday or Wednesday (afternoon). This is to prevent crowds and extra long waiting times at the away section.
An exchange ticket is personal and non-transferable. At the exchange location, the personal exchange tickets can only be exchanged for an admission ticket if it matches a valid ID, with the same name as on the exchange ticket.
Plein in Manchester
Manchester United and the local authorities advise FC Twente supporters to go to Shambles Square. This is a square with several pubs, close to the changeover location and with good connections to the stadium. There are no shuttle buses to Old Trafford, it is recommended to travel to the stadium by public transport.
Access control
It is not allowed to bring food and/or drinks inside. Bags larger than A4 size are also not allowed. In addition, there is a possibility that power banks, earphones and other items will be confiscated. It is strictly forbidden to throw objects.
There are strict checks at the stadium, so it is advised to come to the stadium on time. In the away section you can only pay by card.
Other important information
– The currency of England is the Pound;
– In England you use the type G plug, remember to charge your phone;
– England is not a member of the EU, your internet bundle probably does not work the same as in the Netherlands. Look carefully at the conditions of your subscription and/or provider to ensure that you are reachable during your trip.
