With a long presence on the airwaves, Radio Pays d’Hérault (RPH) is calling on its supporters to reach €30,000 which will allow it to spread its wings in a more modern environment in the heart of Saint-André and pass resolutely in the 2.0 era.
With their eyes fixed on the crowdfunding slider set up last month on the Ulule platform, Jean-Hervé Michel and Virginie Lou-Nony continue to reinvent their ideal radio station. And they are not alone. Behind them, fifty volunteers and eight employees are pushing in the direction of renewal. “Until now we were just a big ear, we want to become a full-fledged cultural player in the region, giving listeners more of a voice,” insists Virginie, secretary of the association, for whom the change must take place. by this sine qua none condition, as much as by technological and real estate changes. Hosted for 37 years by the municipality which now wishes to recover the premises, the associative radio might move during the year 2024. The opportunity to consider a necessary change which does not come without financial contribution.
Head full of projects
If the progress is real and supported by the CCVH and town hall communities, Jean-Hervé, president of RPH, is aware that the path will be taken in stages because the challenge is significant. “We are in transaction with a fair property company which would buy the premises to rent them to us. We need space, a larger studio to accommodate sound creation workshops for schools or adults. We need to change our two amplifiers, renew the website, create a smartphone app…”, a long list drawn up by the crowdfunding commission made up of volunteers and employees. “We want to get out of our comfort zone, create thematic debates, partnerships on cultural events. We also imagine creating a library of knowledge which will bring together all the radio podcasts,” continues the inexhaustible president.
