The far-right polemicist Jean Messiha announced on Twitter that he was behind this kitty to support the family of the agent who, according to him, “does its job and pays a high price today”. He had initially launched a kitty on the Leetchi platform on Friday June 30. But on Twitter Jean Messiha indicated the same day that his kitty was “suspended following 20 minutes when it reached nearly 5,000 euros”.

On the Leetchi website, the kitty is indicated as being verified. The CNews columnist specifies on Twitter that the platform asked him to provide in particular “the valid identity document of the policeman’s wife”. The far-right polemicist therefore launched another kitty on Friday June 30, this time on the Gofundme platform. This collects on the morning of Monday, July 3 more than 800,000 euros.

Several voices have been raised since the weekend of July 1 and 2 to demand its suspension, in particular Sleeping Giants France. This group fighting once morest the financing of hate speech challenges the platform on Twitter to ask it to check whether the kitty launched by Jean Messiha complies with the conditions of use of the site. “His mere existence inflames feelings of injustice and stokes tensions”, launches the collective on Twitter. He also calls on Gofundme to verify that the sums collected are not used to pay the legal fees of the police officer in question.
