Support and Prevention for Smoking Cessation at Boulogne-sur-Mer Hospital

2023-11-22 08:00:00

The addiction department at Boulogne-sur-Mer hospital supports smokers in their cessation process. For tobacco-free month, the service teams carried out several awareness-raising actions. Tuesday, November 21, a prevention and information stand was held in the hospital hall.

Throughout the month of November, a challenge is launched to smokers: to quit smoking. A challenge that seems difficult, but can save your life. The key to success seems to be support. The addiction department of the Boulogne-sur-Mer Hospital Center is there for that. In November, but also all year round, healthcare professionals welcome patients at the Addictology Care, Support and Prevention Center (CSAPA).

Prevent, inform and raise awareness

In November, several actions were carried out to raise awareness, prevent and inform the public regarding the risks of smoking, support methods and solutions for quitting smoking. The addiction service teams notably visited the health centers of Outreau, Portel, Condette and Samer for awareness workshops. Tuesday, November 21, in the hospital hall, Sophie, Amandine and Corinne, from the addiction department were present from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. to inform the public. They presented the service’s support methods and solutions for quitting smoking: nicotine substitutes, hypnosis and even acupuncture.
