Supply: Prices will decline before Ramadan… and a million pounds fine for storing goods

He continued: “We have self-sufficiency in rice, and there should have been no increase in it at all.”

And the head of the internal trade sector at the Ministry of Supply continued, that the Ministry of Supply succeeded in controlling prices and controlling markets during the Corona pandemic period, stressing: “We will pay large quantities in consumer complexes in the coming days to reduce prices, and we will tighten control campaigns on everyone, and we seized 300 tons of Rice, flour and sugar for some people were stored with them, and I send a message to any merchant who begs himself to store goods, that the penalty will be two years imprisonment with fines of 500 thousand pounds and one million pounds, and any goods that will be seized with the merchant will be confiscated immediately and placed in consumer complexes.

He pointed out that the coming period will witness a decrease in prices following the great efforts made by the Egyptian state to confront the greed of traders, and there will be discounted goods in cars and outlets, saying: “The Egyptian state is able to control prices, and the exhibitions of Welcome Ramadan will be in a very large quantity in many villages. And prices will decline before Ramadan, and the Cabinet’s complaints hotline 16528 to report any price hike.”

He stressed that there are 6000 commodity centers in all villages and hamlets of Egypt, which have two producers, Welcome Ramadan, at reduced prices.
