According to the Centre for Food Safety, the definitions of “high sugar”, “low sugar” and “sugar free” in liquid food are as follows:

High sugar:Over 7.5g sugar per 100ml

Low sugar:No more than 5g sugar per 100ml

Sugar Free:No more than 0.5g sugar per 100ml

TOPick checked the nutrition labels of 43 paper-packaged drinks on the market and compared their sugar content, and found that 27 drinks contained no more than 7.5 grams of sugar per 100 ml, and some of the drinks were low-sugar or sugar-free.

According to the Center for Food Safety, sugar provides energy for the body. Eating too much sugar may lead to overweight, obesity and tooth decay.

According to the recommendation of the World Health Organization (WHO), the daily intake of sugar should account for less than 10% of the daily calorie intake. If it can be reduced to 5%, it is better for health. For children aged 2 to 3 years, they need to consume regarding 1,200 calories per day, or regarding 15 grams (3 teaspoons) or less.
