A mother and her child were injured when the floor of a supermarket collapsed in China.
The scene was captured by the establishment’s surveillance cameras on November 19, a day after the official opening of the business, according to information from the New York Post.

Consumers were surprised to find the shelves absorbed by a gaping hole that formed in the space of seconds in the middle of two rows.
According to testimonies collected by the South China Morning Post, a mother and her child fell into the opening.
Investigators discovered that a drain pipe was located under the floorboards where the hole was formed, the Asian media reported.
A support installed under the floor broke, causing the latter to collapse.

However, authorities indicated in their report that the mother and her child escaped with minor injuries, while all other customers were evacuated unharmed.
The business is closed until further notice to allow investigators to identify the cause of this accident.
