SuperEnduro Riesa is “Sold Out” – The Race That No One Wanted to Miss!
Well, well, well, if it isn’t the SuperEnduro Grand Prix of Germany 2025 – sold out before I could even finish my morning coffee! Tickets were flying off the shelves faster than you can say “rev your engines!” Seriously, it seems that the thrill of spectatorship gets everyone revved up… as if they’ve just heard the roar of a 2-stroke engine.
The new SuperEnduro World Championship kicks off on December 14th in Gliwice, Poland. And hold onto your helmets, folks, because Riesa isn’t just any stop on the tour; it’s the second grand spectacle on January 4, 2025! You’d better believe this is the event to be at, and judging by the ticket sales, everyone’s trying to get a piece of the action.
“We have never been sold out this early!”—A phrase echoed by the Auerswald brothers, Daniel and Tobias, who might just be out of a job if they keep making it this easy. By squeezing in an extra 800 seats with some clever redesigns of Riesa’s WT Energiesysteme Arena, they’ve inadvertently set a record! And you can bet that the planning scope just got far easier for them and much harder for those who blinked and missed buying a ticket.
Now, let’s shift gears to the competitors. The line-up is still loosely assembled, but one name stands tall—Billy Bolt. He’s tougher than an old boot and just bagged his fourth SuperEnduro world title on a bum knee. Somewhere, my physiotherapist just fainted; I mean, this guy is basically a superhero! But not to worry—in the world of Enduro, Billy’s got a rabid rival hot on his rear—Jonny Walker (now with Triumph!) who is already giving thrilling performances in the US Endurocross Championship. It’s like watching a duel on two wheels—now that’s entertainment!
As for the Bavarian powerhouse Manuel Lettenbichler? Well, let’s just hope he shows up; right now he’s licking his wounds from a recent injury. Because who wouldn’t want a bit of suspense? We love a comeback story! And don’t count out Tim Apolle, who will proudly represent German colors in the top Prestige class, probably while making it look easier than assembling IKEA furniture, which, let’s face it, is a feat of its own.
And for the kiddies in the junior class, German hopes rest on Milan Schmüser’s capable shoulders. So buckle up because the race promises an exhilarating ride!
The real charm of the SuperEnduro event lies in its impressively complex route. With 10 years under its belt, the Riesa stop has a reputation for demanding courses—sort of like asking your date to meet your parents on the first outing! This year, about 1,000 tons of earth, 150 tons of sand, and 200 large river stones are all set to create the daunting track, proving that there’s no shortcut when it comes to making sure the audience gasps more than a fish out of water.

SuperEnduro Riesa has achieved a remarkable milestone this year, as tickets for the SuperEnduro Grand Prix Germany 2025 have been selling at an unprecedented pace, ultimately resulting in a complete sell-out.
The much-anticipated new season of the SuperEnduro World Championship is set to ignite on December 14th in Gliwice, Poland, featuring a total of seven thrilling events. Notably, Riesa plans to host its second race on January 4, 2025, with ticket sales experiencing an unprecedented surge, making the event a swift sell-out.
“We have never been sold out as early as this time,” remarked Daniel and Tobias Auerswald from Auerswald Events, the organizers behind this year’s event in Riesa. They proudly stated that due to innovative conceptual adaptations to the interior of the WT Energiesysteme Arena, an additional 800 grandstand seats have been created compared to previous years. While it’s unfortunate for those unable to attend, this early sell-out provides invaluable planning security. “In addition, we can now dedicate ourselves even more intensively to other preparations,” Daniel Auerswald elaborated, showcasing their commitment to enhancing the event experience.
Although the lineup for the SuperEnduro World Championship season is still being finalized, certain key details have emerged. Notably, British rider Billy Bolt, who overcame a significant knee injury to clinch his fourth SuperEnduro world title in the 2023/2024 season, is back in action. The Husqvarna factory pilot, now seen as nearly unbeatable, will defend his championship with vigor.
His main competitor from last winter, Jonny Walker, has made a tactical switch to Triumph, transitioning from a semi-factory rider at Beta to a full factory team member. Walker has already shown his prowess by claiming a victory in the newly started US Endurocross Championship, placing him second overall after four races.
Currently, it remains uncertain if Bavarian rider Manuel Lettenbichler will compete in Riesa. The KTM factory rider recently secured his third consecutive title in the Hard Enduro World Championship, demonstrating his speed in SuperEnduro. However, his readiness for the upcoming event is in question due to a current injury.
Tim Apolle is confirmed to be representing Germany in the prestigious top class once again, while Milan Schmüser will carry the hopes of Germany in the junior category.
Fans can look forward to an exceptionally challenging course, as the World Championship race in Riesa has earned a stellar reputation. For the tenth anniversary edition of SuperEnduro Riesa, significant time and effort have been dedicated to the track’s development. Crafting the ideal balance of smooth riding and exhilarating action is crucial for ensuring audience excitement. The planning process requires both experiential knowledge and instinctive insight. The course will utilize around 1,000 tons of earth, 150 tons of sand, and a variety of other materials, including river stones and logs, to create an impressive and challenging track.
