A nice combination between Jordi Alba and Lionel Messi resulted in a point for Inter Miami on Sunday night. In injury time, the latter prevented his club from going down once morest LA Galaxy.
For Inter Miami it was the first away game of the new season. Last Thursday, the club – where Luis Suárez also settled last summer – opened the MLS year with a 2-0 victory over Real Salt Lake.
Then Robert Taylor and Diego Gómez scored the goals, now it was Messi who plunged ten LA Galaxy men into mourning. A wonderful combination with Alba, with whom he played for years at Barcelona, formed the basis for the equalizer in the 92nd minute.
Thanks to his goal, Inter Miami moves up to first place in the Eastern Conference of the MLS, but a series of clubs can come alongside when they play the second round of the American competition next weekend.
