‘Super White Paint’ Reflects 95% of Sunlight

Paints and pigments are now becoming part of the environment. Earlier we mentioned the Corona-Kush Paint and now we have created the world’s whitest paint that reflects up to 95% of sunlight and keeps buildings cool.

Experts from Purdue University have named ultra-white paint, thanks to which it will be easier to keep buildings cool and their air-conditioning costs will also be reduced. In this way, dependence on environment-friendly and energy-consuming air conditioning systems will be reduced.

Even before this, many types of paints have been made in which Teflon etc. was used but its advantages were less and there were some drawbacks. But now some experts at Purdue University have used a cheaper and widely available mineral like calcium carbonate instead of titanium dioxide.

Another important ability of calcium carbonate is that it absorbs ultraviolet rays and is very beneficial when added to paint. Also, the particles in the paint are of different sizes which reflect sunlight very well.

In this way, 95% of the amount of light falling on the paint is returned. When tested outside a home, it kept the wall or ceiling one and a half to two degrees cooler than conventional paint. But an unusual drop in temperature was noted at night.
