◀ Report ▶
Currently, Typhoon Hinnamno, the 11th typhoon that passed the western sea of Okinawa, Japan, is approaching the Korean Peninsula with a central pressure of 935 hectopascals and a strength of ‘very river’.
The Korea Meteorological Administration predicted that ‘Hin Nam-no’ would move north to the sea southeast of Shanghai, China at dawn tomorrow, and once predicted that the power would rise to the stage of ‘super-strong’.
After that, it was expected that it would pass through the sea 50 km northeast of Seogwipo, Jeju at dawn on Tuesday morning, land in the south coast of Gyeongsangnam-do at around 8 am, and then pass toward the East Sea.
When landing on the Korean Peninsula, the maximum wind speed of ‘Hinnamno’ is predicted to exceed 40 meters per second, which is enough to blow a person or a stone away.
From tomorrow morning, Jeju Island is expected to be directly affected by the typhoon.

“From the followingnoon of the 5th (tomorrow) to the day before the 6th (the day following tomorrow), the strongest impact is expected, so it seems to be necessary to prepare as much as possible around this period.”
The typhoon is expected to bring a lot of rain.
Due to the indirect effect of ‘Hinnamno’, it has already rained in Jeju, the east coast, and the central region from today, and it is expected that up to 300 mm of heavy rain will fall nationwide until the day following tomorrow and 600 mm or more in the mountainous areas of Jeju Island.
As the ‘Hinnamno’ landing was imminent, the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters raised the emergency response level to the highest level, level 3, and raised the typhoon crisis warning level to ‘serious’.
The central government recommended that the private sector adjust the working hours on the Tuesday when the typhoon landed, and requested schools at all levels to be closed or remote classes.
