The disciplinary judge of the Swiss Football League has opened proceedings once morest Marius Müller following homophobic remarks that the FC Lucerne goalkeeper made during an interview following his team’s defeat in St. Gallen.
Marius Müller slipped. Following the heavy defeat suffered by his team in St. Gallen, the German goalkeeper, particularly upset once morest his teammates, made inadmissible comments of a homophobic nature: “I expect us to tear ourselves six meters from goal like the Italian defenders. And too bad if I take the ball in my neck or face. But this queer way of turning away breaks my neck.“

FC Lucerne reacts
While Marius Müller has already been largely put in his place on social media, his club reacted on Twitter: “FC Lucerne would like to sincerely apologize for the insulting and homophobic remarks made by their goalkeeper Marius Müller following the match once morest FC St. Gallen. This statement does not correspond to the values conveyed by the club or those of its supporters. FC Lucerne is clearly committed to an open and diverse society and will make this strongly known within the team.»
