Lara Gut-Behrami celebrates her 36th World Cup victory in the second World Cup Super-G in St. Anton. The Olympic champion wins ahead of the Italians Federica Brignone, Elena Curtoni and Marta Bassino.
After the 3rd place the day before, Gut-Behrami didn’t manage a perfect ride, but she drove the most direct line of all the drivers and mastered the second half of the track the fastest. In the absence of the pausing Mikaela Shiffrin and Sofia Goggia, who left prematurely following a fall on Saturday, the Ticino distanced the previous day’s winner Brignone by 15 hundredths and Bassino by 19 hundredths. The 36th World Cup victory was also Gut-Behrami’s 70th podium finish in the World Cup.
Gisin convinced in sixth
Michelle Gisin showed a clear upward trend. The Engelberger, who has struggled so far following changing material from Rossignol to Salomon, achieved her second-best result of the season in sixth place. Gisin missed out on the first podium of the winter or even the first win in the final part. Because she twice strayed far from the ideal line, she lost more than her entire gap of 99 hundredths to Gut-Behrami on the increasingly soft track in the last 25 seconds of the race.
Corinne Suter and Jasmine Flury took places 10 and 11, followed by Priska Nufer in 14th place. Joana Hählen, who was second in the first race the day before, missed a goal and was eliminated.
The speed riders continue next week in Cortina d’Ampezzo. On the Olympic slope of 2026, two Super-Gs and one downhill are on the program from Friday to Sunday.

Hallo …
and welcome to the second women’s Super-G in St. Anton. On Saturday, Federica Brignone clinched victory more than half a second ahead of the two Swiss riders Joana Hählen and Lara Gut-Behrami. The hope for a Swiss podium place is correspondingly high today. Corinne Suter, who was only 15th yesterday, also wants to show that she can do better.
Actually, a descent would have been planned in St. Anton. However, the weather threw a spanner in the works for the ski ladies. Because no training was possible, the descent had to be cancelled. It was decided that there would be a Super-G on Saturday and Sunday.
