How to Apply for a Temporary Pass
Hong Kong residents who have not applied for a Home Return Permit, or whose Home Return Permit is invalid or lost and need to travel to and from the Mainland, can apply for a temporary pass valid for three months in Hong Kong.
Applicants must go to the Document Service Center to submit the application in person, and submit the application form, ID photo and return receipt, Hong Kong ID card, and SAR passport. Applicants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by one of their parents to apply and provide proof of relationship. It takes 12 working days to apply for a three-month one-time entry and exit valid temporary pass for ordinary documents, and the fee is 120 yuan; for expedited documents, the certificate can be collected in the followingnoon of the fifth working day following processing (not counting the day of acceptance), and the fee is 320 yuan.
Temporary pass application time limit and fees
(1) An entry-exit pass that is valid for one entry and exit within three months
1. Ordinary documents, following 12 working days to collect evidence. Fee: $120
2. For expedited documents, the evidence will be collected in the followingnoon of the fifth working day following processing (the day of acceptance is not counted). Fee: $320
(2) An entry pass valid for one entry within three months
1. Ordinary documents, 3 working days for evidence collection. Fee: $300
2. For expedited documents, evidence can be collected within 2 working days (valid mainland identity documents must be submitted). Fee: $450
Note: Working days do not include Saturdays, Sundays, and Hong Kong public holidays.
