Caribbean superstar Sunil Narine once again proved his class in Vitality Blast. Sunil Narine came into the discussion by firing fireworks in the match against Essex.

Sunil Narine once again showed his brutal hard hitting capability to the cricket world in the match held at the Oval yesterday.

Narine scored 78 runs from just 38 balls including six sixes and seven fours. The player scored runs at a staggering strike rate of 205.26.

Narine’s firework led Surrey to a good score, but just couldn’t win. Zarake lost the toss and batted and could not build a good partnership at any stage of the match.

Apart from Sunil Narine, Will Jacks (23 off 13 balls), Jason Roy (28 off 24 balls) and Jamie Overton (23 off 17 balls) were the other players who contributed to the total.

In the end, Surrey scored 195 runs for the loss of six wickets in the stipulated over. Daniel Sams, Aaron Beard, Sam Curran, captain Simon Harmer, Shane Santner and Paul Walter took one wicket each for Essex.

In reply, Essex got off to a good start. Despite losing wicketkeeper Adam Rossington for the Silver Ducks, 140 runs were scored for the second wicket.

Opener Dan Lawrence scored 58 runs from 33 balls while Mikel Pepper who was one down scored 75 runs from 39 balls.

Chris Jordan fired Pepper and broke up the partnership. Essex also lost Lawrence by the time Pepper got out and added two runs. Sunil Narine took the wicket.

With seven wickets in hand, Essex needed just 56 runs from 47 balls to win. But Surrey managed to take the match to the last ball.
