“We knew Tyrone would be tough, but the girls were really focused and resolute,” Evans said. “Our teamwork was excellent; everyone was working for each other, and that allowed us to create a lot of scoring opportunities.Keeping them to just a couple of points was crucial for us.”
The 4-4 scoreline serves as a testament to Meath’s attacking prowess.“We’ve been working hard on our attack over the winter months, and it was great to see it all come together on the pitch,” Evans explained. “We were moving the ball quickly, creating space for our forwards, and they were clinical in front of goal.
With such a strong start, Meath’s sights are set high. “Our goal is to challenge for the Division 1 title,” Evans stated confidently.“We certainly know it’s going to be a tough battle, but we’re confident in our abilities. We’ll take each game as it comes and focus on improving with every performance.”
