Sunday: Cristiano Ronaldo in Fatal Fury and Metaphor in Formula 1 – what?

These two stories are crazy enough to be summarized in one post: Atlus will be featured prominently in the Formula 1 be represented. And Cristiano Ronaldo has announced a crossover with the new Fatal Fury. What?

Yes, great news for Sunday morning. Enjoy! First of all, Metaphor by Atlus. This will be seen today in the form of advertising on Formula 1 racing cars. If you are now wondering where the overlap lies, then you are asking exactly the right question. Where might it be?

Relatively absurd: In the game there is a character called Hulkenberg and in Formula 1, well, there is Nico HülkenbergThe two are not related, MoneyGram Haas asserts in a Press releaseHülkenberg gets the face of Hulkenberg on his car and Kevin Magnussen drives with the protagonist.

“Overcoming fear and anxiety is a central theme in Metaphor: ReFantazio, and having the two characters appear on the race cars of Nico Hülkenberg and Kevin Magnussen – drivers known for achieving the impossible – perfectly reflects our game, in which players defy all odds to fight for the crown in the Tournament of Thrones,” said Irvin Ducournau, Director of Marketing at Atlus. Sure, OK!

But it gets even stranger and that’s where Cristiano Ronaldo comes in. He sent a tweet to his 113 million followers last night: “Something exciting is in the works,” said Ronaldo. Hashtags: #SNK #FatalFury and of course #CR7.

The teaser video shows a stadium, perhaps as a stage? And: “A legendary player joins a legendary game”. Cristiano Ronald really as a playable character in the new Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves? Hard to imagine, maybe it will just be a live-action trailer for promotion.

The connection between Ronaldo and Fatal Fury probably goes through Saudi Arabia. Ronaldo has been playing for al-Nassr FC in Saudi Arabia since 2023. And since 2022, the prince’s Saudi Arabian MiSK Foundation has owned around 98 percent of SNK shares.

Metaphor: ReFantazio will be released on October 11, 2024. Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves is currently busy revealing one character at a time, but won’t be released until next year for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series, and PC. The two collaborations fit into a wild year in which we’ve already seen Assassin’s Creed at the Olympic Games.
