Sunday: 70 dead and 80 wounded in intense Israeli bombing of Lebanon

Lebanon – The death toll from the Israeli bombing on areas in southern and eastern Lebanon rose yesterday, Sunday, to 70 dead and 80 wounded, according to what was monitored by Anadolu’s correspondent.

Earlier on Sunday, the Lebanese Ministry of Health reported, through a series of statements, that 45 people were killed and 76 wounded in Israeli raids on the villages of Sidon (south) and Baalbek (east).

Anadolu correspondent later reported that the intensity of the Israeli bombing escalated on Sunday. Which raised the number of victims to 70 dead and 80 wounded, an infinite toll.

The official Lebanese News Agency said that for the first time since the confrontations began on October 8, Israeli warplanes launched a raid on the town of Jeb Jenin in the Western Bekaa (east). Which led to the death of 4 people and the injury of 4 others.

It also reported that a family of 17 people were killed in an Israeli raid targeting the town of Zaboud in the northern Bekaa, in addition to the presence of missing persons under the rubble.

The agency also reported that 4 people were killed in 3 raids that targeted a building in the village of Halabta in the Bekaa (east).

The Emergency Operations Center in the Ministry of Health said, in a statement, that “the Israeli enemy’s raids on the Baalbek-Hermel district (east) led, as an initial toll, to the martyrdom of 21 people and the wounding of 47 others.”

In Sidon (south), 24 people were killed and 29 others were injured, as a result of an Israeli raid that targeted a residential building in the Ain al-Delb area, according to the center.

On the other hand, the Israeli army said, in a statement on Sunday, that its warplanes bombed about 45 Hezbollah targets in the Kafra village area (south).

He claimed that “among the targets attacked were weapons depots and structures belonging to the Lebanese factions.”

As of 18:00 GMT, there was no comment from the Lebanese factions.

In response to the Israeli attacks, the party announced in a series of statements on Sunday that it had bombed the city of Safed, settlements, and military sites in northern Israel, achieving “confirmed hits,” using missiles, drones, and artillery shells.
