They were operating 24 hours a day and in a residential area.
Alleged cryptocurrency mining farms that operated in Altos de Caroní were suspended by the National Superintendency of Cryptoactives (Sunacrip), the NGO Asonacrip reported on its social networks.
The procedure was carried out by the Bolívar State Police, Sunacrip and the National Electric Corporation (Corpoelec).
In the procedure, 54 digital mining machines were seized. Apparently the place operated without the permission of the Snacrip, since the activity cannot be carried out in a residential area.
It was detected in response to citizen complaints, police sources reported.
In addition, the equipment used for illegal cryptocurrency mining consumed a high amount of electrical energy and worked 24 hours a day.
