NEW ORLEANS – Georgia Southern’s NaJ Watson and South Alabama’s Bodine Degli-Umberti each recorded record marks to earn Sun Belt Women’s Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week honors.
Women’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week
NaJ Watson, Georgia Southern

Georgia Southern’s NaJ Watson picked up two event wins in the 60m and the 200m at the Dr. Sanders Columbia Challenge in New York. In the 60m, Watson clocked in at 7.44, a new personal best and a Sun Belt leading time. In the 200m, Watson secured the victory with a time of 24.02. She currently leads the conference in both the 60m and 200m and is the only Sun Belt athlete leading two events. Watson anchored the Sun Belt leading 4×400 team with a season best time of 3:44.95.
Women’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week
Bodine Degli-Umberti, South Alabama

At the Jack Johnson Classic, South Alabama’s Bodine Degli-Umberti demolished the indoor school record in the weight throw with a throw of 20.21m/66-3.75, breaking the previous record of 19.44 m/63-9.5. She would also go on to earn a new season-best in the shot put with a throw of 15.08m/49-5.75 to take second place in the competition.
