An incredible wedding bringing together all the Spanish aristocracy and many celebrities

This July 8, 2023, the 6th Marchioness of Griñon, 41, married Iñigo Onieva in front of an audience of celebrities. For the past few weeks, people magazines have been authorized to reveal the information skilfully distilled by the bride and groom, such as the name of the tailor, the caterer and the designer of the bride’s dress. Information regarding the marriage has been feeding the press since the announcement of the engagement of the one who is nicknamed “the exquisite marquise” since the broadcast of her own reality TV series on Netflix.

The wedding was held for 400 people at El Rincón Palace, located in Aldea del Fresno, in the Community of Madrid. In addition to her father’s title, the Marquise inherited this palace, a 19th century fortress surrounded by vineyards that has 30 rooms and more than 120 hectares of land. The ceremony of this Saturday, July 8 took place outdoors, in the courtyard of the stables of the building. The place had been laid out and flowered to welcome the bride and groom. Iñigo arrived on the arm of his mother and the bride, on the arm of his older brother, Manuel Falcó.

The marriage was celebrated by three priests. The main priest is Don Miguel Cruz, spiritual adviser to the very pious Marquise. They have known each other for several years and he was able to follow the evolution of their relationship. The second priest is Father Ángel, who has always accompanied the family and has known Tamara since she was little. Father José Luis was present at the office to represent the diocese of Valencia.

After the ceremony, the reception was organized in the English gardens where everything was thought out to reflect the tastes of the newlyweds. Old cars were parked around the residence, including a Rolls-Royce Phantom I that belonged to King Alfonso XIII, recalling the ties that unite the noble family to the royal family. For 130 years, all the kings of Spain have stayed or visited El Rincón Palace, including Felipe VI, still Prince of Asturias, when he visited the premises with King Juan Carlos.

The guests, although very generously welcomed, also had a list of things to respect. Strict rules had been sent to the participants in order to guarantee the smooth running of the evening. It was strictly forbidden to take photos and post anything on social media. Cell phones had to be left at the entrance. The bride had negotiated exclusive coverage of her wedding with Hola, which published a 52-page hard copy issue, on newsstands Monday.

Marquise de Griñon’s wedding dress

For her wedding dress, Tamara trusted Wes Gordon, creative director of Carolina Herrera. The designer made it exclusively for her and in a record time of five weeks, according to Hola. The dress is inspired by that of Grace Kelly at her wedding to Prince Rainier III in 1956. However, there is a more striking resemblance to the dress worn by Queen Letizia at her wedding to Felipe.

The dress was embroidered using an ancient 12th century technique called zardozi and was composed of crystal floral designs inspired by the tiara and family coat of arms. THE zardozi is a method of embroidery using metallic threads, of gold for example, in which one can also encrust elements of glassware.

She wore a family tiara. The tiara belonged to her paternal grandmother, Hilda Fernández de Córdova y Mariátegui, who wore it when she married, in 1928, Manuel Falcó Escandón, Duke of Montellano. The tiara was also worn in 1999 when her older half-brother Manuel Falcó married Amparo Corsini. The mother of the bride, Isabel Preysler, also dressed at Carolina Herrera. She wore a splendid dress on which peonies were painted by hand on the yellow fabric.

The groom meanwhile found his happiness in the Canali boutique. He wore a shirt designed by tailor Mario Zafra in Egyptian cotton and a tie by Italian manufacturer E. Marinella. On his feet, he wore brogues from the English brand Crockett & Jones.

The bride had reserved a surprise for her guests, arriving in a second dress to end the evening. The second dress, once more designed by Wes Gordon for Carolina Herrera, is in “blush” silk organza, “embellished with cascading ruffles”, writes Hola. The second dress, with a bow on the neckline, is ivory in color.

In addition to the broken engagement the first time, the forgiven deception, the patching up and the flaunting of all the details in the press, another totally crazy story has come out in the press in the last few days. The jewels of the bride, thatThe newspaper estimated at 2 million euros, were allegedly stolen a few days ago while being transported to the wedding venue. The rumor was finally denied by Iñigo who indicates that the theft concerns another family, possibly wedding guests.
