The Meteorological Institute has given the latest news about the first weekend of August on X.
In southern Norway, the weekend starts well, they write. Both east, south and west can expect temperatures above 20 degrees on Friday, but then it will be slightly cooler over the weekend. On Sunday, there may be rain showers in Eastern, Southern and Western Norway.
The Meteorological Institute has issued a yellow warning for torrential rain in northern parts of southern Norway, and on yr.no they write that there will be local variations in intensity and amount.
– Locally, the rainfall is expected to exceed 20 millimeters per hour. Thunder is also expected in connection with the rain showers, especially in the afternoon, they say.
In the north, temperatures will creep upwards during the weekend, and northerners can enjoy a warm and almost cloudless weekend. The meteorologists report one exception for the northern summer weather.

In the same area, the risk of forest fires is high after a dry July. Here, a danger warning has been issued at orange level for forest fire danger. The meteorologists have looked at the rainfall forecast until Tuesday.
