As for the affected users, only the kWh exceeded by electricity consumption will be affected by the electricity price increase, and the kWh not exceeded will not be affected.
Taipower stated that more than 90% of its users were not affected by the two adjustments in the past two electricity prices. As for the Xiayue electricity price, it will be implemented every year as usual, and it is not an increase in electricity prices. Starting from April 1 this year, according to the average electricity price approved by the electricity price rate review committee, the applicable rate of electricity price in summer months is higher, and the rate of electricity price in non-summer months is lower. The annual average price of electricity remains unchanged. The average burden will not increase due to the implementation of the summer electricity price. The summer month electricity price only affects the electricity bill of 120 kWh or more per month, and 240 kWh of electricity for a total of 2 months in the first phase, with an adjustment range of 13% to 28%.
In addition, according to Taipower statistics, the average monthly electricity consumption of 3.78 million households in Taiwan is below 120 kWh. If the normal electricity consumption is maintained, they will not be affected by the summer electricity price at all. The main impact is that the monthly electricity consumption exceeds 1000 kWh. users, accounting for regarding 3% of the overall user ratio.
