Plopsaland De Panne received regarding the same number of visitors as in the summer of 2022, it seems. The park is banking on an “all-weather experience”, with two indoor areas. The group’s indoor parks fared significantly better than last year thanks to the wet weather, while the water parks saw fewer visitors. Plopsa Coo, the smallest park in the Ardennes, is also “a bit behind compared to last year”.

The Bellewaerde amusement park in Ypres “didn’t have a bad summer per se, but the weather was a determining factor”, says Filip Van Dorpe, Marketing Director.

Pairi Daiza, on the other hand, recorded a 2 to 3% increase in the number of visitors. Thanks to the cultural activities organized in the zoo, the park managed to attract additional visitors, according to the spokesperson. The park’s lodges were 99% full throughout the summer. Also, more people bought subscriptions.

In Walibi, there was a decrease in attendance of around 15% compared to the same period in 2022, which reached record highs. In question: the particularly gloomy weather between July 21 and August 15 did not favor our outdoor activity as well as the two-week reduction in the school vacation calendar during the summer period.

SparkOh!, the scientific adventure park in Frameries, posted extremely positive results. “After two years marked by the Covid-19 crisis and a year 2022 marked by very, if not too, sunny weather, this summer 2023 will have been synonymous with record attendance: +19% compared to 2019, for 2 weeks off less,” said CEO Chris Viceroy.

The operator of Antwerp Zoo and Zoo Planckendael indicates that at first glance the development of the number of visitors is similar to that of the previous summer period.

Bobbejaanland acknowledges that “the unstable summer weather did not influence the results of the summer months so favorably”. Nevertheless, the theme park operator speaks of an “acceptable” result.

Mini-Europe finally had 14% more visitors than last year thanks to foreign tourists.
