The rhythm game ‘Sumiko Gurashi Rhythm Party Together (hereinfollowing referred to as Rhythm Party Together)’, which can be easily enjoyed by the whole family, was officially released in Korea for the Nintendo Switch through Daewon Media last month. This game was developed using the character brand Sumiko Gurashi introduced by San-X, which is famous for characters such as Rilakkuma.

Sumiko Gurashi, which appeared in 2012, met users as a game on various platforms such as Nintendo 3DS, Switch, and mobile games, and in Korea, ‘Sumiko Gurashi Let’s Gather!’ for Switch! Works such as ‘Sumiko Town’ and ‘Sumiko Gurashi Room Corner World Travel’ have been presented.

The recently released ‘Rhythm Party Together’ is a rhythm game that anyone can easily enjoy with simple controls. It is also a party-type game where you can enjoy a variety of mini games. When we think of rhythm games, we often think of games that are enjoyed by playing various notes that pass quickly across the screen. If you are a user who thought that the difficulty of getting started might be high, you can put your worries aside.

When you first turn on the game, pastel-toned graphics and cute and charming Sumiko Gurashi characters welcome you. The game supports operation by holding and shaking the Joy-Con and button operation through handheld mode.

As long as you have an extra Joy-Con, up to 4 people can enjoy it, making it a great party game to enjoy with family, friends, or acquaintances. However, among the mini-games provided in the game, those designed for single play cannot be enjoyed by multiple people.

When you start the game, you will learn the game by playing ‘Pangpang Tennis’ among the various mini games. You may notice it when you enter the game, but in ‘Rhythm Party Together’, notes do not appear on the screen like typical rhythm action games, except for the practice mode before the game starts.

The game is played by looking at the user’s sense of beat, the sounds heard, and the movements seen on the screen, and pressing buttons or shaking the Joy-Con in time with the beat. Once you get used to the game, there are some games that you can play just by hearing the sounds and feeling the beat without looking at the screen. At least you won’t have to give up because inputting notes is difficult. It might be a little difficult to play with Bachchi, though.

Coming back to ‘Pangpang Tennis’, this game is played by having another character in the game throw a ball in the direction of the user character and hitting it at the correct timing. A variety of balls were prepared, including balls thrown at a certain beat, balls thrown high in the sky that took a long time to fall, and balls released in rapid succession.

The game is successful if the user hits the various balls that appear in sync with the song accurately to the beat and scores over 80 points out of 100. When the score exceeds 80 points, the difficult difficulty level opens, and in the hard difficulty level, the difficulty of the game is increased by interfering with the game play through screen production, etc.

There are a variety of games that are played using a similar method. There are less than 20 mini games, including a game where you smash a watermelon to the correct beat, a game where you jump rope or pick a radish to the beat, and a game where you play the same beat that the previous DJ played. It’s similar, but each has different fun.

Of course, not all mini-games provided in the game can be played from the beginning, and they are opened with goods acquired through game play. Additionally, each game is divided into games that can be enjoyed alone, games that can be played together, games that can be played in team battles, etc., so you can refer to them when you want to enjoy them with others.

Overall, I believe that ‘Rhythm Party Together’ can be a party game that anyone can easily enjoy, with a simple play method and play that can be enjoyed by up to four people.

However, in terms of the game’s volume, it is somewhat disappointing. While playing, I was reminded of ‘Rhythm World’, which offers the fun of a fresh rhythm game armed with over 100 different games. Of course, the play time for each mini game is longer in ‘Rhythm Party Together’, but it would have been nice to see more games.
