Asuncion, IP Agency.- Special Agents of the National Anti-Drug Secretariat (Senad), stationed in Regional Department No. 2, arrested last night the leader of a micro-trafficking network that operated in Juan León Mallorquín and other points in the Alto Paraná department. He was identified as Nelson Alcides Riquelme Cabañas, Paraguayan, 41 years old.
The arrest took place during a raid on a house located in the Santa Ana neighborhood of the aforementioned city, and is part of the combat axis of the SUMAR plan, promoted by the Government of Paraguay and its institutions, in the fight once morest micro-drug trafficking that affects the community.
Three loaves of bread and several small portions of cocaine paste, known as “chespi,” were seized from Riquelme Cabañas’ possession. The total weight of the drug was 3 kilos 390 grams, equivalent to more than 23 thousand doses to be distributed in the final consumer market.
According to the information gathered, the detainee was responsible for “supplying” an entire drug micro-trafficking network. In recent months, the Senad has been operating with a strategy that targets the heads of micro-trafficking networks.
