The Dawonsys Consortium (Dawonsys, Sulwha Engineering, Daejeon Transportation Corporation), in which Sulwha Engineering (CEO Lee Won-gu) participates, announced on the 19th that it was selected as the preferred bidder for the operation and maintenance of the Yongin Light Rail Transit. The total project cost is KRW 322.3 billion, and the contract period is 10 years from the date of commencement of operation.
Currently, Neotrans, which operates the Shinbundang Line, is in charge of Yongin Light Rail Transit, and the contract will be completed at the end of July. Sulwha Engineering is a company that specializes in design, construction management, and facility maintenance.
Sulwha Engineering’s participation is expected to play a significant role in the maintenance and safety of Yongin Light Rail Transit facilities as facility maintenance is becoming more important due to the strengthening of the Railroad Facility Maintenance Act with the recent enactment of the Machinery Equipment Act.
According to Su-gon Jeong, president of Sulwha Engineering, “Sulwha Engineering has made great efforts to participate in this project, such as creating a business organization and recruiting the best experts in Korea to enter the railway facility operation and maintenance business.”
