Yesterday, Thursday, His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, inaugurated the 24th edition of the Sharjah International Storytellers Forum, organized by Sharjah Heritage Organized by the Institute, the slogan is “Bird” Story.
The event will be held at the institute’s headquarters in Sharjah University City and will run until September 23. The ceremony began with a speech by Dr. Abdul Aziz Al Muslim, Director of the Sharjah Heritage Institute, who confirmed that the Institute will continue to follow the established guidelines of His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi , Member of the Supreme Council of Sharjah and Ruler of Sharjah, is committed to laying the foundation for a genuine local popular heritage stemming from the country’s values and true heritage of tolerance and civility.
Al-Musallam noted that the Emirate of Sharjah is proud of its Emirati heritage, considering it an important part of the local Emirati identity and a visible sign of the progress of Emiratis and a sign of their pride in their true roots. The achievement highlights His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah’s boundless support for this legacy and embodies his wishes and ambitions, which have contributed greatly to its excellence and development.
His Highness and the audience were treated to an artistic presentation that dealt with the origins and history of the Ravi Forum and various stories from the past 24 years, in addition to the importance of bird stories, its most famous publications and its impact on humanity role in development.
His Highness the Deputy Ruler of Sharjah honored a group of commentators with outstanding achievements and works, expressing Sharjah’s appreciation for the role of commentators in local folklore around the world and their outstanding achievements in this field express appreciation.
His Highness visited the Forum’s halls and heard a detailed explanation of the Forum’s development and the importance of its endowments over its 24 years, as well as its important role in consolidating the status of storytellers and preserving this rich oral heritage. There will be 160 events held during the forum, including seminars, theater performances and traditional science evenings.
