Dizziness usually indicates the need to eat, but sometimes, this condition occurs following eating, as a result of unhealthy eating habits, and it may indicate a health problem.

Causes of feeling dizzy following eating

Non-diabetic hypoglycemia is the term used to describe low blood sugar in people without diabetes and is a rare condition
Blood sugar levels usually rise following a meal. However, when a person experiences low blood sugar two to five hours following eating it is called reactive hypoglycemia, a type of non-diabetic hypoglycemia that often causes dizzy spells following eating high-carb foods.
People at risk of developing diabetes or prediabetes are more likely to have this reactive hypoglycemia because they have difficulty producing the right amounts of insulin.

Postprandial hypotension, also known as postprandial hypotension, is a condition that affects up to one third of older adults.
It most commonly affects adults with high blood pressure because it causes atherosclerosis, making it more difficult to contract and relax as needed.
Postprandial hypotension occurs when the intestines and stomach require extra blood for digestion, resulting in reduced blood flow to all other parts of the body. The sudden drop often results in dizziness, fainting, chest pain, blurred vision, and nausea.

Some foods may cause an allergic reaction in some people, which may lead to a feeling of dizziness or fainting within minutes to two hours of eating, along with other symptoms such as rash and abdominal pain.
There is limited evidence linking lactose intolerance to dizziness and feeling toxic. In addition, a person sensitive to caffeine may become dizzy following drinking caffeinated beverages.
Can dizziness be prevented following eating?
A number of simple tips may help prevent dizziness following eating, the most prominent of which are the following:
Drink enough water before and during meals
Limit or avoid caffeine or sodium
Eat small meals every three hours
Meals should contain high-quality protein, fats and carbohydrates
When suffering from schizophrenia, be sure to check your sugar following meals.
Avoid refined carbohydrates such as white bread, rice and sugary drinks
