The Sudanese Rapid Support Forces announced, “The extension of the humanitarian truce in Sudan for an additional 72 hours, as of midnight today, Sunday,” noting that “its decision to extend the truce came with the aim of opening humanitarian corridors and facilitating the movement of citizens and residents and enabling them to fulfill their needs and reach safe areas. And it renewed its “firm” commitment to the declared humanitarian truce and the complete ceasefire.

The Sudanese army, led by Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan, did not comment on the “quick support” decision to extend the armistice.

Last Thursday, the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces announced their agreement to extend the truce, which ended on Friday, for an additional 72 hours. However, the clashes were renewed between the Rapid Support Forces and the army forces, yesterday, Saturday, and battles took place in separate areas of the capital, Khartoum.
