Sudan: the signing of the transition agreement postponed

The signing of the transition agreement in Sudan, scheduled for Thursday, has been postponed due to the resumption of
talks between soldiers (…) on April 1 and 6, the Forces of Freedom and Change (FLC) bloc said in a statement.

Already postponed last week, the signing of the framework agreement providing for the unification of the military institution and the formation of a civilian government until the holding of elections, will not take place as planned on Thursday, said the same source.

“The signing has been postponed due to the resumption of talks between the military (…) on April 1 and 6”, indicates the text.

“Negotiations have progressed on several points but one last question still needs to be finalized”, he continues, that, according to the experts, of the modalities of the integration of the paramilitaries of the Rapid Support Forces (FSR) into the regular troops.

This agreement, drafted by a joint committee composed of 11 members including representatives of the army, the opposition and a delegate from the paramilitary forces, was finalized and submitted to the joint political mechanism
which includes all parties, with the aim of discussing and approving it in order to reach signature.
